Dr. Harper considers plastic surgery to be the perfect combination of art and science. Always interested in medicine, he was drawn to plastic surgery through his training at the Medical College of Georgia, where he served as his medical school’s class president and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, an honor society distinguishing the top five percent of physicians. During his studies at MCG and Emory University, he was fortunate to train with mentors who would shape his life and surgical career, and credits Drs. Kenna Given, T. Roderick Hester and L. Franklyn Elliott with teaching him to always strive for perfection.

He further broadened his worldview and developed his technique by studying with several world-renowned plastic surgeons in Paris, France. Dr. Harper has also taken an active role as an educator by authoring numerous journal articles and book chapters, and by presenting and speaking at regional and national conferences.

When it comes to his patients at Charlotte Plastic Surgery, Dr. Harper takes an individual and caring approach to achieve the best, most natural-looking results possible. The connections he makes with all his patients are what drive him professionally, and he is especially inspired by working with breast cancer patients. “Their strength and optimism in difficult circumstances motivates me to do my very best,” he says. “Just being able to be a part of their journey is a true blessing.”

While his work and his patients are two of his biggest passions, Dr. Harper enjoys traveling, snow-skiing and spending time with his wife Kristin, their two children and their two dogs.
